Frequently asked questions
Is ImageForge really fully on-device?
Yes. All compression and conversion runs locally with a built-in engine. Your images, their contents and metadata never leave your Mac, and the app keeps working with no network connection.
Do I need an account?
No. There's no sign-up and no login. You download the app and start dropping images. The only time you give us an email is if you choose to join the waitlist or write to support.
How does Pro work, and is it a subscription?
Pro is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. It's processed by Apple through the App Store, and Restore Purchase re-activates it on your devices without any account.
What are the system requirements?
ImageForge targets a recent version of macOS on Apple Silicon and Intel Macs. The exact minimum version is listed on the Download page at launch. Windows and Linux builds are on the roadmap.
Will compressing damage my images?
By default ImageForge is lossless — quality is never degraded unless you explicitly opt into a lossy mode. You also control whether originals are overwritten or kept as copies.
How do I report a bug?
Email hello@imageforge.info with what you did, what you expected, and what happened. Your macOS version and a sample file (if you can share one) help us reproduce it fast.

Tell us what you did, what you expected and what actually happened. Include your macOS version and, if you can, a sample file. The more detail, the faster we can fix it.
