Features

Everything you need to make images smaller.

One native app for the whole job: lossless compression by default, modern formats, conversion, reusable profiles, and automation — all 100% on your Mac.

Lossless by default

ImageForge rewrites your images smaller without ever touching quality — using the best lossless tool for each format. Lossy is always an explicit, informed choice, never a silent default. Originals are handled exactly the way you tell it to.

Highlights
oxipng, zopfli, jpegtran, libwebp and more
Pixel-identical output, smaller file
Lossy is opt-in, with live quality preview

Modern formats & RAW

PRO

Go beyond the classics. Compress and convert to WebP, AVIF and HEIC — with control over quality, effort and bit depth — and import RAW captures to convert them into shareable formats.

Highlights
AVIF & HEIC output
RAW import & conversion
Per-format effort & quality control

Reusable profiles

PRO

Dial in per-format settings once, save them as a named profile, and reuse across every batch. Export and import profiles to share a house style across a team.

Highlights
Per-format panels for every type
Export / import as a file
Free ships 3 read-only presets

Format conversion

Turn a folder of PNGs into WebP, or HEIC into JPEG, with clear output naming and an honest signal of when a conversion is lossy versus lossless.

Highlights
Any format to any format
Clear {name}.ext naming
Lossy / lossless made obvious

100% on your Mac

Nothing is ever uploaded. No account, no cloud, no telemetry. The Rust engine runs entirely on-device, so sensitive images never leave the machine — and it works fully offline.

Highlights
No network required, ever
Strip EXIF & GPS by default
Selectively preserve color profile

Watch folders & automation

PRO

Set a folder to watch and ImageForge compresses every file the moment it lands — no clicks. A menu-bar item keeps quick actions one shortcut away, so optimizing becomes part of your workflow.

Highlights
Watch folders compress on save
Menu-bar quick actions
Hands-off, runs in the background
Format support

Seven formats. One engine.

JPEG
Lossless via jpegtran, or lossy with quality, subsampling & progressive.
PNG
oxipng + zopfli, optional palette quantization & dithering.
GIF
Lossy levels, color reduction, inter-frame optimization.
WebP
Lossless or lossy with quality & effort control.
SVG
Cleanup: strip metadata, collapse groups, minify, round coords.
AVIF
Quality, effort and bit depth — modern, very small.
HEIC
Apple-native modern format, compress & convert.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Does compressing reduce image quality?

Not by default. Lossless mode produces a pixel-identical image at a smaller size. If you choose a lossy profile, you decide the quality — with a live preview before anything is written.

Are my images ever uploaded?

Never. All processing happens on your Mac with a local engine. There is no cloud, no account and no telemetry, and the app works completely offline.

What happens to my originals?

Whatever you choose: overwrite in place, keep a copy with a -min suffix, or write to a separate folder. ImageForge never destroys an original without explicit consent.

What is free versus Pro?

Free covers lossless JPEG/PNG/GIF/WebP/SVG, basic lossy, batch and metadata stripping. Pro (€24.99 once) adds unlimited custom profiles & per-format control, AVIF & HEIC output, RAW import & conversion, and watch folders with a menu-bar item.
